FUSION STUDENT MINISTRY MISSION STATEMENT

Fusion Student Ministry exists to “fuse” students to God through a personal, purposeful, and fruitful relationship with God, and to fuse them with other Christian students.

Goals of Hill’n Dale’s Youth Ministry

The youth ministry at Hill-n-Dale calls the church to the needs of our young people, and encourages the sharing of the unique gifts of our youth with the church.  These goals are:

     1.  To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.

     2.  To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the church body.

 3.  To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

We do this through weekly programs, ministry groups, mission trips, and special events, trips, and conferences.  Please email Cody Shepherd to find out more about special events and other ways to get involved.  Below is a list of weekly events that we would love any students 6-12 grades to join us in.

Weekly Programs:

Fusion Youth Group

Practical life teachings on important relevant topics in youth’s lives today.  Fusion is on Sunday evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in our downstairs youth room.  The middle school will start off meeting in the youth room and the high school will start off in the large room below the chapel.  They then combine for later parts of the evening program including snacks, worship, and lesson.

Sunday School

Strong Biblical teachings on relevant issues.  This year students are learning practical applications for living in relationship with God and other people through such topics as worship, justice, grace, and the future.  This year-long study is broken up into eight 6-week courses focusing on different issues and topics.  This is all part of a six-year plan to address and discuss all the major issues in Scripture and help each student get a grasp of God’s Word and what it means for their lives.  Sunday school starts at 9:15 AM in the youth room.  After a combined time of announcements and prayer the students will go to their classrooms.  Sunday School lasts until 10:15 a.m.

REAL LIFE Bible Study

Vertical Challenge takes place on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 p.m.  This year the middle school students are challenging each other to take a fresh look at our Christian walk by experientially participating and learning a life skill each week that has a spiritual connection.  Our high school students will have the option of participating in one of the adult classes on Wednesday evenings or being a part of a class entitled, “Is The Bible Reliable?”  This class will look on developing a foundation for practical defense of the validity of the Bible.

There is a dinner (donation only) provided before this program from 5:15 – 6:15 p.m.  This program takes place during the school year but does not take place during the summer or December.  Students start together in the youth room and then break up into small groups for discussion.  Please refer to our OverDrive program below for Wednesday night activities during the summer.

OverDrive

A fun and leisurely event held during the summer.  It takes place off church grounds at pre-arranged houses (please email Cody to find out its location).  Its purpose is to encourage positive student-to-student relationships. OverDrive is for both Middle School and High School students.
